Problem
The drive and lifting system of the Kamag trailers, used for ship transportation outside the dry-dock, had shown significant wear and technological obsolescence.
The existing electro-hydraulic system no longer met the required safety and reliability standards, while operator handling was complex and prone to errors.
Solution
AUTOMATOS KOSMOS 4U undertook a complete reconstruction of the system, combining hydraulic and electrical automation with a new PLC and modern control program.
Key actions:
Installation of a new PLC with SCADA/HMI touchscreens for ergonomic operation
Development of control logic for pumps, valves, and lifting systems
Integration of position and pressure sensors for accurate monitoring
Addition of safety systems (interlocks, alarms, emergency stop)
Operator training for correct use and basic diagnostics
Result
Safe and precise ship transportation outside the dry-dock
Increased system reliability with reduced risk of failures
Easy operation through a user-friendly HMI and clear alarm indications
Reduced maintenance times thanks to diagnostic functions
Enhanced customer confidence for critical dry-dock operations
